  • Post-graduate Certificate in Cross-Cultural Studies and Applied Linguistics.
  • Bachelor of Health Science, University of Sydney, (Major – Hearing and Speech)
  • Bachelor of Music, Sydney Conservatorium of Music (Major -Voice)

Martin Charles Badway holds a Master of Speech Pathology from the University of Technology, Sydney. He is an experienced generalist clinician who specialises in voice disorders, including functional, neurological, organic pathologies, and peri-operative care. He is a trained classical singer with an undergraduate degree in music from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. His musical background, vocal ability, and pedagogical knowledge provide him with the expertise to assist people with voice dysphoria to modify their pitch and resonance. 

Martin has a varied background working in both private and public health settings. In 2024, he worked as a dysphagia clinician for New South Wales health at St. George Hospital, Kogarah, across the inpatient acute wards, including emergency, aged care and general medicine. 

Martin has worked with children, adolescents and adults who have multiple communication, mental health and medical diagnoses to achieve their goals and improve overall wellbeing. He works closely with the patient’s support network, including family and funding agency, to provide inclusive management plans and ensure continuity of care.

At the City Speech Clinic, a multidisciplinary team is available. This includes laryngology, psychiatry, psychology, and allied health-professional colleagues (e.g. occupational therapy, dietetics).

Assessment, diagnoses and treatment is available in person at the Macquarie Street Clinic, online via Telehealth, and when appropriate, treatment is available in the comfort of your home.

We visit nursing homes to help older people manage swallowing problems and communication. School visits are available for language and literacy assessments.
